Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming school year. Working closely with educators and students, you’ll play a vital role in fostering inclusive communication in the classroom. This full-time position (at least 37.5 hours per week, with potential part-time flexibility) runs from August 3, 2026, to May 21, 2027, with possible pre- and post-planning days.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Educator Certificate specifically for Sign Language Interpreters
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
• Comfortable with documenting services through daily logs to ensure compliance and track student progress
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families
• Preference for onsite support (not accepting remote/VOCO candidates)

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear, effective communication between students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and classroom teachers/staff
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities in real time
• Collaborate with school teams to provide an accessible educational environment
• Flexibility to serve various age groups, determined by experience and candidate preference—final assignment will align with district placement after consultation
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and daily service logs as required by the district
