TCA Overview:

The Classical Academy of Sarasota (TCA) is a PS-12th grade classical education institution located in Sarasota, Florida. The mission of TCA is to develop the academic potential of each student through a rigorous, content-rich, classical liberal arts education while building in them a virtuous character. Position Summary: A teacher's aide assists the classroom teacher as needed. This position reports directly to the Lower School Dean.

• Assists teacher as needed, including but not limited to:
  • Working individually with students
  • Providing teacher breaks as necessary by bringing students to specials classes, PE, or lunch
  • Sitting with students during lunch
  • Grading papers
  • Serving as a temporary substitute as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to maintain confidential files and information

Minimum Qualifications 

• Higher education preferred
• At least 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant or in a related job OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with working in an educational establishment
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Superb organizational, self-management, and problem-solving skills

• A desire for feedback and an openness to engage in a process of self-improvement
• Alignment with the educational philosophy and core beliefs of TCA
• Successful results of criminal and employment background check
