Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Location: Linden, NJ 07036
Job Duration: 4 months / Temp to Hire
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Pay Rate: $18.50/Hr. on W2

Job Summary:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing tasks related to receiving, picking, packing, and shipping operations within the regional supply fulfillment center. The role ensures accurate handling of materials, proper inventory control, and timely order fulfillment.

Responsibilities:

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, inspect, verify, and process all incoming materials.
• Enter receipts into the materials management system.
• Report discrepancies between received materials and shipping documents.
• Identify short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life) and notify the supervisor.
• Store items in designated locations and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory.

Order Fulfillment:

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Build boxes and package items using appropriate materials.
• Use tools such as tape guns and air pillows for packing.
• Label shipments accurately and prepare documentation.
• Load trucks and confirm outgoing shipments.
• Assist in breaking down bulk packaging into smaller units.

Skills:

• Ability to operate warehouse equipment and tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
• Regular standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Must follow proper lifting techniques.
• Safety shoes required: lace-up steel-toe only; no slip-ons or loafers; athletic styles acceptable; high slip resistance preferred; 1-day compliance grace period.
