This is a contract, in office, role with the intention of converting to a full-time salaried position within 2 months of start date. Summary Prophecy Games is looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Technical Sound Designer to own audio across our games, including work connected to Deadzone Rogue 2 and future Prophecy projects. This is a high-ownership role on a small, fast-moving team. You will be the primary audio owner for sound design, implementation, mix, ambience, music integration, dialogue support, and the overall sonic identity of the projects you work on. We’re looking for someone who can jump into the game, identify what needs audio attention, collaborate directly with designers and engineers, and take audio from idea to final implementation. The right person is a strong generalist: creative, technical, self-directed, and comfortable owning the full audio pipeline. Deadzone: Rogue has a realistic, stylized gritty sci‑fi audio identity: punchy weapons, readable combat feedback, hostile enemies, deep-space atmosphere, and fast roguelite action. We want someone who can help maintain and evolve that feel across our projects. About Prophecy Games Prophecy Games is a 20 person game studio based in Georgia with a fast, iteration‑driven development style. We value autonomy, collaboration, experimentation, and people who are comfortable learning on the go. As the studio behind Deadzone: Rogue, with nearly a million players globally, we build games with strong moment‑to‑moment feel, tight feedback loops, and bold audiovisual identity. Core Responsibilities Own the full audio pipeline for your projects, from sound design and asset creation through Wwise implementation, Unreal Engine 5 integration, optimization, polish, and delivery. Design compelling sound effects for weapons, combat, player abilities, enemies, UI, environments, progression systems, cinematics, and moment‑to‑moment gameplay. Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure audio supports gameplay readability, player feedback, pacing, intensity, and overall game feel. Own the in‑game mix across SFX, music, dialogue, ambience, combat, UI, and cinematics. Help design and improve audio workflows, pipelines, and tools in collaboration with engineers. Proactively play the game, identify audio needs, and drive improvements without waiting for every task to be assigned. Core Qualifications 5+ years of experience in game audio, with strong experience in both sound design and technical implementation. At least one shipped game in a sound design or technical sound design role. Strong proficiency with Wwise and Unreal Engine 5. Experience implementing audio through Unreal Blueprints. Strong sound design skills using tools such as Reaper, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Soundminer, VST plugins, and related audio production software. A generalist mindset with the ability to contribute across SFX, ambience, music implementation, dialogue support, mix, UI, cinematics, gameplay systems, and technical implementation. Comfort working as the primary or sole audio owner on a project. Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with designers and engineers. Experience optimizing audio for performance, memory, and platform requirements. A portfolio that demonstrates both creative sound design and in‑game implementation. Nice to Have Experience with fast‑paced shooters, roguelites, action games, sci‑fi games, or combat‑heavy projects. Experience designing punchy, readable combat audio for weapons, enemies, abilities, impacts, movement, and UI feedback. Experience working on small or medium‑sized teams where audio has to move quickly across many areas. Experience helping design audio systems, tools, or scalable workflows in partnership with engineers. Experience with reactive music and adaptive combat mixes. Experience shipping on PC and console platforms. As a full time employee, we offer comprehensive benefits that include FREE lunch daily, medical‑dental‑vision‑life insurance, flexible spending account and 401k match. #J-18808-Ljbffr
