Job Description Job Description Position Overview HPI Property Management is a family-owned real estate investment, construction, and property management company focused on providing quality housing throughout Central Wisconsin. We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Maintenance & Construction Technician to support both our rental property maintenance needs and renovation/construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, takes pride in quality work, can solve problems in the field, and wants to grow with a fast-moving real estate company. The Maintenance & Construction Technician will assist with day-to-day maintenance requests, apartment turns, remodels, repairs, property improvements, and construction projects across our rental portfolio. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Responsibilities Complete maintenance work orders at residential rental properties. Perform basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, trim, hardware, appliances, and general handyman work. Assist with apartment turns between tenants. Troubleshoot tenant maintenance issues and communicate clearly with the maintenance lead or property manager. Complete repairs in a professional, timely, and clean manner. Maintain a respectful and professional attitude when working around tenants. Help keep properties safe, clean, and well-maintained. Identify larger repair issues and report them to management. Follow company standards for quality, safety, and documentation. Take before and after photos of completed work when required. Construction Responsibilities Assist with remodels, renovations, and capital improvement projects. Help with demolition, framing, drywall, flooring, trim, painting, cabinetry, fixtures, siding, roofing, and other construction-related tasks. Work with the construction manager, foreman, and other team members to complete projects efficiently. Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and jobsite supplies. Keep jobsites clean, safe, and organized. Follow project scopes, instructions, and company quality standards. Support larger renovation projects from start to finish. Qualifications Prior experience in maintenance, construction, remodeling, or handyman work preferred. Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and residential repair work. Ability to perform physical labor, lift materials, and work on active jobsites. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Must be dependable, professional, and detail-oriented. Ability to manage time and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Preferred Skills Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: Plumbing repairs Basic electrical repairs Drywall repair and finishing Painting Flooring installation Trim and finish carpentry Door and window repair Appliance installation Cabinet installation Roofing, siding, or exterior repairs Apartment turns General remodeling Work Environment This position involves working at occupied rental properties, vacant units, renovation projects, and active construction sites. The role requires physical work, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing, using tools, and working in different weather conditions when needed. Compensation Compensation is based on experience, skill level, reliability, and ability to complete quality work.
