Job Description

The HVAC Site Supervisor will work within the Construction Management team and report directly to the Mechanical Project Manager. This role is primarily field-based and will be responsible for supervising HVAC and exhaust system installation activities on large high-tech construction projects, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications. The HVAC Site Supervisor will coordinate closely with subcontractors, vendors, and project leadership to support mechanical system startup and commissioning activities. This position will be fully onsite at the project location.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily HVAC and exhaust system installation activities in the field to ensure subcontractors maintain schedule, quality, and safety standards
  • Coordinate and support mechanical system startup and commissioning activities with project teams
  • Serve as the field point of contact between subcontractors, area construction managers, and project leadership
  • Verify installation progress and ensure systems are construction-complete prior to startup
  • Assist in coordinating HVAC systems with electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural trades
  • Attend and participate in startup and coordination meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and project staff
  • Review installation documentation and assist in tracking field progress and completion status
  • Support resolution of field coordination issues and installation conflicts
  • Assist with reviewing submittals and RFI-related field clarifications as needed
  • Conduct field walks to verify control lines, installations, and overall workmanship quality
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes
  • Support QA/QC inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to site safety policies and procedures
  • Provide regular updates on field progress, delays, and installation concerns to project leadership
  • Assist in maintaining accurate field documentation and installation records
  • Support training and coordination of subcontractor crews as required

Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 5 years of HVAC/mechanical construction experience required
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, or high-tech construction environments preferred
  • Cleanroom or mission-critical facility experience highly preferred
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Technical or trade school training in HVAC/mechanical systems preferred

Position Related Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, exhaust systems, and mechanical installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, and trade interface
  • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-trade construction environments
  • Strong communication skills with ability to coordinate between field crews and management
  • Ability to identify and resolve field installation issues quickly and effectively
  • Working knowledge of safety practices and OSHA construction standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work extended hours, off-shifts, or weekend schedules as required by project demands
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in field documentation
